The SkyCaddie Family

2016/7/19 16:18:51

Ask golfers what the best way to lower your score is, and you are likely to get a range of different answers. Some might say that the key to a lower score is getting the right set of clubs, and not just the right make, but ones that have been fitted specifically to you, by a professional. Others will say it is practice that will reduce your score quicker, and that there is no substitute for taking weak areas of your game and practicing at them until you become a better, more complete golfer. The fact of the matter is, though, that the best, fastest most effective way to lower your score in golf, is by investing in a SkyCaddie GPS unit, by SkyGolf.

The SkyCaddie family of GPS finders, by Skygolf, are by far and away the best units that are on the market. Whilst other companies make GPS rangefinders for golf, SkyGolf is the only company that makes them exclusively for golf. Now, you might think that given the company's prestige, they would only make expensive GPS units, but the great news is that they make three different devices, to cater for people with differing budgets.

First you have the SkyCaddie SG2.5, which is priced from ?25 - ?50. This is an entry-level device, and is great for anyone who wants to improve their game without spending too great an amount. The SkyCaddie SG2.5 is extremely lightweight and extremely compact, and has a backlit display. It has a rechargeable lithium battery, which will give you up to fourteen hours of continuous use between charges. The LCD screen has a crisp, clear, 120 x 80 pixel resolution screen.

Next is SkyCaddie's mid-range GPS device, named the SG5. It is slightly more expensive than the SG2.5, so expect to pay around ?60 - ?30. For the extra money you are getting an upgraded screen, which is colour, and of a superior resolution to the SG2.5. With the SG5 you also get access to the SkyGolf online community, 30,000 different course maps, and some nifty enhanced features such as the QuickVue and Holevue screens that provide a more intuitive, user-friendly experience, more than justifying the slight leap in price between the two devices.

Last of all there is the SkyCaddie SGX - SkyCaddie's crowning glory. This thing does pretty much everything except hit the ball for you. With a screen that puts most smartphones to shame, the SGX is the ultimate in GPS rangefinder technology, and there really is nothing that compares to it. In terms of user experience it is vastly superior to even the other SkyCaddie devices, with an intuitive duel navigation control scroll that allows you to use it with just one hand, plus TruePoint GPS precision positioning technology, meaning that you've the benefit of an unmatched level of accuracy and reliability. Expect to pay anything between ?60 - ?30 for the SGX. This may seem like a lot, but once you are shooting seriously lower scores, you'll realise that the device is worth a great deal more.
