Get some exercise with a round of golf

2016/7/19 16:16:38

These days it seems as though the government is constantly issuing advice to people, telling them they need to lose weight, exercise more and eat better. There are always adverts on TV about dieting and eating different foods, while there are also a lot of TV programmes exploring the issues of weight loss and unhealthy eating.

However, shedding the pounds and getting more exercise is easier said than done for many people. Often they will be in the office from nine until five every day - and will have to commute to and from home in the morning and evening. On top of this, people need to fit in meeting up with friends and family, getting jobs done around the house, going food shopping and running any other errands they have to deal with.

All of this means they are not left with very much free time to head to the gym and try and get a workout. What is more, a lot of people find going to the gym boring because unless they go with other people, they are working out on their own and have no one to talk to. This is not always very encouraging and they might find they do not get as much exercise done as they would if they had a friend to do the exercises alongside them.

So what can people do if they want to lose weight but do not want to spend every evening pounding the treadmill in the gym?

One solution could be to take up golf. Many people will no doubt turn their noses up at the sport as it is usually considered to be something old men play. However, this is no longer the case and a growing number of young people are now getting involved.

Although it may not seem like it, golfing is actually a great way to get some exercise and it will not make people feel as though they have been working really hard like they would at the gym. Because they are swinging clubs all morning, this will help players to build up strength in their arms.

Furthermore, they will be walking up and down fairways all morning, most of which are a few hundred feet long. This gives enthusiasts some gentle exercise that they will not even realise they are doing. Golf is the perfect way to get fit without the effort of going to the gym every evening.
