In today's society, sports and sporting clubs are often an important part of people's lives. Offering a hobby, way of keeping fit and various socialising opportunities, many people love being part of an exclusive club which caters for their individual sport, and enjoy having additional support on hand as and when the need arises. Sporting clubs are often known for being a place of luxury and comfort, a safe haven if you will, where their particular needs and wants are continually met. As such, managers of these clubs must go the extra mile to ensure their members are well looked after and happy with the service they provide.
So how do sporting clubs go about doing this? Consider the following situation. You're the manager of a new golf club; your main aim is to gain members and make your mark on the sporting community. It shouldn't be too difficult, what with the golf course itself being situated amongst miles of beautiful countryside, and the restaurant/bar offering top notch food and drink, should it? Well you may not have realised it, but it's those very things and that high standard you have to live up to that makes it a rather tricky task. What you need are good management and organisational skills, perseverance and new, innovative ideas you can put in to practice to set your club apart from others.
The key thing to remember when managing a sporting club is to always put the members of the club first, ensuring the right care and attention is given to all at all times. Strictly speaking, it's their fees that pay for the upkeep of the business and make it what it is. Members need to be advised of any club news and updates, insurance policy information and cover details available, tournaments and dates. Furthermore, staff should be on hand for any advice or training required.
The overall experience of going to and using a sporting club should be first-class. People may want to have a quiet game, socialise with friends or even host business or client meetings there. You should ensure you have the right facilities so as to cater for these different needs, and have measures in place to go above and beyond your sense of duty.
It's a good idea to have customer feedback questionnaires so as to get the opinion of your members; this will enable you to complete regular checks and make any necessary reviews and changes. In short, by fulfilling member's requests you are sure to provide the best service possible.
