Cleveland CG16 Wedge Features a Wide, Constant Sole Design

Martin Laird loves when he can smash a driver, and that carried him a long way Friday at Bay Hill.

Laird reached three of the par 5s in two shots, converted one of them into an eagle and wound up with a seven-under-par 65 for a one-shot lead over K. J. Choi and Spencer Levin in the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Orlando, Fla.

It was not just the par 5s. Even without wind in the afternoon, Laird hit driver on the 384-yard fifth hole to set up a simple pitch and another birdie. He closed his round with a 321-yard tee shot on the ninth and a 12-foot birdie.

Here, I remember a cleveland clubs. That is cleveland cg16 wedge, which offers the playability and forgiveness of an iron, with the spin control of a wedge. This technology offers the maximum conforming dimensions within each groove whilst adding four laser-milled texture lines between each groove to increase the ball-to-club friction.

Choi put in three hybrids to go with his driver and two fairway metals, all to get ready for the Masters. It paid dividends at Bay Hill with a tournament-best 64. Levin's putting carried him to a 70. Levin made all four of his birdie putts outside 15 feet to stay atop the leader board until Laird's surge.

Tiger Woods is still in it, too. Woods raised his arm on the ninth green as his 20-foot birdie putt rolled in for a four-under 68, leaving him six shots behind going into the weekend. Considering how so much of his year has gone, this would be considered progress for Woods, a six-time winner at Bay Hill.

Finally, the cleveland cg16 wedge features a wide, constant sole design aimed to offer maximum forgiveness and bunker performance while maintaining shot-making versatility. Cleveland say that this style of wedge is very popular on Tour, especially in the sand iron lofts. However we were not as keen as the extra forgiveness has meant a trade off on feel, which is not as crisp as the CG15 wedge and the wider was not as effective on softer lies.

With respect to the tour, we feel that these are good wedges for aspiring mid handicappers and those who want more forgiveness from a wedge they use a lot from the fairway.
