A Few Pointers On How To Hold Your Golf Club

2016/7/19 14:58:26

It is the time for spring cleaning and I'm sure that you have stumbled over your golf clubs somewhere in the garage or attic. Well yes, it is the time to dust them off and start swinging them again. One of the greatest things about golf, as with most sports, is that a new season means a fresh start and a chance to improve on your game.

If you would like a few pointers on how to hold your golf club, the first one I can give you is that you should never feel uncomfortable, make sure that the grip you use is comfortable for you. Start out by aligning the club face open to the ball. If you are a righty, put your left hand on the club first; make sure there is about a half inch of room at the top of the grip. Then put your right hand on the club and cover the thumb of your left hand with your pinky, middle, and ring finger of your right hand.

When swinging your golf club, it is important that you keep your wrists locked as wrist movement can lead to a poor shot. To make sure that your wrists do not move, place your left thumb straight down the shaft of the club. Try swinging a few times to make sure that your wrists do not move. For people who are lefties just reverse everything.

If you decide to use a golf glove, then congratulations, you just added an extra advantage to improving your swing. A golf glove not only gives you a nice extra grip, but it also allows you to figure out where the most comfortable position for your hands is. If you have a proper hold on your golf glove, you can be assured that your game will improve to a big degree.

If you are unsure if your clubs are the right size for you, stand them up against your body. Do they reach your waist? If so then they are the correct height. One tip that every golfer will say to you is always keep your head down when swinging, if you fail to do this you will be hitting terrible shots every time.
