* PVC cement
* A piece of PVC pipe that is the same size as the pipe with the leak
* A hacksaw
* A utility knife
* A tape measure
* A marker
* A pair of safety glasses
Instructions:
1. Turn off the water supply to the pipe.
2. Cut out the section of pipe that contains the leak. Use the hacksaw to make two cuts, one on either side of the leak.
3. Use the utility knife to score the inside of the pipe around the hole. This will create a chamfer that will help the PVC cement to adhere better.
4. Apply PVC cement to the chamfered edge of the pipe.
5. Insert the new piece of pipe into the old pipe. Make sure that the new pipe is fully inserted and that the edges are flush.
6. Apply PVC cement to the outside of the new pipe where it meets the old pipe.
7. Hold the pipes in place for a few minutes until the PVC cement has set.
8. Turn the water supply back on.
The leak should now be repaired.
