Does hi vis fishing line scare crappie?

No. There is no evidence to suggest that high-visibility fishing line scares crappie. Crappie are sight predators, but their vision is not particularly acute. They are more likely to be attracted to bait that mimics their natural prey than to be put off by the color of the fishing line.

In fact, high-visibility fishing line can actually be an advantage when fishing for crappie because it allows you to see how the bait is moving in the water and to detect bites more easily.
