Ok, just finished the 8th annual Cr4 Fish Fried, were a bunch of us from work get out for a few days of F, F, F (food, fish and friends with the odd brown pop). I?ll have to say we all had a great time, thou the number of anglers was down from pass years due to a sport called golf?
We arrived at Lochaber and stayed at Vince Coldwell?s cottage that is on the Shore of Lochaber Lake and we?ll have to say it is always a pleasure to spend time there.

Let,s go fishing
We headed out and fished Melrose Lake that evening, now I always said ?If it looks like rain, it?s probably going to rain? and that?s what I laughing said to my fishing partner Pat as it poured on us as we rushed to shore to get his raingear ( check out video). The fishing was not to bad; we got a few trout and yellow & white perch. We did see some Salmon jumping.

We got back to the cottage to dry the outside and wet the inside if you know what I mean. The next day after the self made fog cleared we fished Louis Lake (some of us call it, No fish Lake), again with not much luck. We fished Burn and Bruce Lakes in the evening with better luck and had a nice fish fry for supper.
Always looking for Trout
The next day we headed out on the second half of this fishing trip, down to Country Harbour to fish and stay at a place we scouted out a few weeks earlier.
River Cottage
This river cottage is own by Mike Beiswanger and we were all taken by this place, Wow. If you are ever thinking about fishing or taking a vacation down Country Harbour way you should see about renting this river cottage. It has everything and more than what a guy needs to have a great stay and it?s right on the river for quick fishing.

We fish the Country Harbour river and Harbour for two days catching a few Sea Trout, I had on a good one but as soon as he seen the net he shook off that spoon, boy they hit spoons hard, had one come right out of the water and shake off that spoon, great fun.
After a great stay at the river cottage we headed back to Lochaber and fished the lake, where Vince landed the biggest trout of the trip, a nice two pound Sea trout. All in all it was a great trip; we would like to thank Vince and Mike for the great places to stay. Check out photo albums River Cottage and Cr 4 Fish Fried for more pics.
