How long do fish stay with there parents?

The amount of time fish stay with their parents varies greatly depending on the species. Some species, such as the clownfish, stay with their parents for their entire lives. Others, such as the salmon, stay with their parents only until they are old enough to fend for themselves.

Many species of fish have no parental involvement at all. The parents simply spawn and then leave the eggs to hatch and develop on their own. These fish species are said to be "broadcast spawners."

Here are some examples of fish species and the amount of time they stay with their parents:

* Clownfish: Stay with their parents for their entire lives

* Salmon: Stay with their parents until they are old enough to fend for themselves (about 2 years)

* Guppies: Stay with their parents for about 2 weeks

* Mollies: Stay with their parents for about 4 weeks

* Swordtails: Stay with their parents for about 6 weeks

It is important to note that these are just general guidelines. There can be variation within a species, and some fish may stay with their parents for longer or shorter periods of time than what is listed here.
