How do rock fish protect themselves from prey?

Rockfish do not protect themselves from prey. Rockfish are predators and typically feed on smaller fish, invertebrates, and sometimes other rockfish. They generally do not have any specific defense mechanisms against being preyed upon, other than the ability to swim and seek shelter among rocks and crevices in their natural habitat.
