Can catfish jump out of water?

Catfish are bottom-dwelling fish and are not usually known for their jumping ability, but they have been known to jump out of the water in certain situations, such as when they are startled, attempting to escape from predators, or when they are trying to catch food. Catfish have powerful muscles that they use to propel themselves through the water and some species of catfish have been known to jump several feet out of the water.
