By all means I am not much of a Fly Angler
however I love doing it.
Here in Virginia Cold Stream fly fishing is
not all that easy to come by well
at
least not where we are so we do have to travel.
We
have a few events that are coming up that I can highly recommend.
The
first one is important because it is geared toward Children all the way but
trust me there is plenty to do for the Adults.
This
year Heritage Day or Kids day in Madison County at the Graves Mountain Lodge is
April 7th.My suggestion is, get there early.
We have done this event with my daughter
before and planning on going again this year. It was a great time down to the
arts and crafts and Hay Rides. Children can keep their trout so be prepared.
Again if you are planning on fly fishing get there early to secure your spot.

On
the Top of my list of Fly Fishing things to do, is the Virginia Fly Fishing
Festival in Waynesboro Virginia. April 21 and 22.
This
year is going to be a very Special Festival for my husband and I. My Boss gave
us and all expensive paid weekend for the Festival, down to a stay at a local
Inn.
This
will not be our first time going. You can see my now Husband Mark and I with
Lefty Kreh 2010 at the Fly Fishing Festival in the picture below
( My husband will not mind when I
mention here I have a fishing crush on Lefty Kreh, let me tell you that man can
cast that flyline, incredible) I am once again looking forward to running into
this living legend.
I
also signed up for some paid lessons with Wanda Taylor, who in herself is also
well known here in Virginia for many reason. It is nice to see that events are
willing to cater to the growing interest in Women in the sport. Several classes
and seminars are aimed at the female fly angler, so I am looking forward to
those events.
Project
Healing Waters will be on hand. And trust me your shopping needs will be met.
Orvis will be there as well as many others. There will be something for
everybody. Bring your non fishing Spouse or friend to enjoy the Wine Festival
going on at the same venue. That is included with Admission.
Last but not least
this is a Child friendly event with Casting Classes for Kids and a trout pond
as well. Our Children are our next Generation Angler!
For
more on this exceptional event please see

I
will try to write follow up Blogs on both events.
By all means say hi and
strike up a conversation with both my Husband and I, we love to talk about
fishing and meet new people.
Please
remember take your Children fishing, they are our next Generation Anglers
