Champlain Run Trout Club - Trout release June 9, 2012
Few
minutes ago, we had one of the most wonderful demonstrations about symbiosis ?
man and nature understanding each other. More specifically, man and fish
understanding each other. It is about the continuous efforts to make the
population of Brown Trout in the Ottawa River grow to a sustainable number.
At
12:00pm we had a quick start of the brown trout release into the Ottawa River ?
about 3,500 fishes this year. Tony Petrelli, the man behind the operation said
today that the Champlain Trout Run Club working closely ?Les Pêcheurs a la
Mouche de l?Outaouais? had a
budget of $6,000.00 dollars for the project. Although Petrelli got may
supporters and sponsors between private companies, Quebec Provincial Wildlife
Ministries and governmental agencies, the Club is still in deficit and need
more help. ?We are looking for sponsors and we need help to raise funds for
preserving and developing habitat as well as buy quality fish stock? said
Petrelli.
Petrelli,
a seasoned fly fisher at heart, couldn?t contain the smile when he was
releasing the little brown trout in the river. It is a love affair for the hole
family since his wife Franca, his kids, nieces and friends where around to help
on the release.
I?ve
got excited myself and volunteered to help. It was a really pleasant
experience. It got me deep that I decided that I am going myself to be a member
of the Champlain Run Trout Club and volunteer my time for the cause. The
membership money is going to be used to the program funds.
And,
Tony Petrelli and myself are inviting all to help as you can. Please, contact
