Can you tune your 8 string ukulele to a mandolin tuning?

It is not possible to tune an 8-string ukulele to a mandolin tuning. A standard mandolin has four courses of strings, each course consisting of two strings tuned in unison, with the total number of strings being eight. An 8-string ukulele, on the other hand, has eight individual strings, each tuned to a different note.

While some of these notes may match the notes of a mandolin, due to the different string tensions and scale lengths of these two instruments, the overall tuning of an 8-string ukulele cannot replicate that of a mandolin.
