What is a Bass clef used for?

The bass clef is a musical symbol used to notate the lower-pitched notes in Western musical notation. It is placed on the fourth line of the staff and indicates that the pitches written on that line are to be played an octave lower than written. The bass clef is commonly used for instruments that play in the lower register, such as the bassoon, trombone, tuba, and double bass, as well as for the left hand of a pianist. It is also used for some vocal parts, such as the baritone and bass voices in choral music.
