New wave of Electronics Technology
Progressing forward in the high stakes race of electronics has become extremely competitive and the winners if one is ever proclaimed will be some very powerful bass fishing tools. The latest and greatest of this race is being refined and upgraded every year. Some of the enhancements are some extremely powerful tools for the ever progressing bass industry.
These tools from a Lowrance perspective have really become the next generation of electronics and this latest technology is leading the industry in what will soon become the norm in marine electronics. First and foremost Lowrance has developed its own microprocessor to power drive their units; in the past all of the GPS/depth finder technology has been powered by software using a programmable chip to tell the unit what to do. This tool worked very well for many years, but as the software became more in-depth the need to take the basic functions to a hardware solution became evident.
Accomplishing this allowed Lowrance to introduce this 2015 year their Gen 3 units, powered by a proprietary microprocessor. Taking all their basic functionality and putting it into a chip that will expand capabilities for many years to come.
Accomplishing this has now made the Lowrance HDS product much faster than it has been in the past; speed at this level allows you a get a much clearer picture of the bottom especially at the deeper depths of water. Fish on the bottom can now be better seen as the technology actually separates the bottom from the fish allowing you to get a much clearer picture going forward. Along with the system enhancements comes a much better and improved menu that eliminates some of the need for the units to have to have levels of menu drop down bars. Putting the menu in front of you just allows you to use it much easier than the past. Lastly if you are a user who has enjoyed recording the bottom and creating your own maps you probably found the process cumbersome. The new Gen 3 now can be connected wirelessly right to the internet allowing you to down load your mapping saving a bunch of time and process right from your unit. Yes wireless connection is here on the new Gen 3 Lowrance technology.
