Moon Phases
When talking about a "full moon phase", let me clear up a few things at this time. Several people think that a bright full moon is the best for night time striper fishing. Typically this is not the case, during the new moon phase coming up to full or going away is usually better. Fish the hours before the moon comes up or after the moon goes down and usually you will find the ael wise and the fish moving in on the bank more readily. A "full moon" or a bright moon out at night will usually pull the bait into open water and of course the Stripers will follow them. That has been the case for the last few days. We have not had any dark periods at night for the fish to move into shallow water. While full moon fishing phase is usually good for bass and smallmouth at night, it does not always hold true for the Striper fishing here on Lake Cumberland. Until next week, from beautiful Lake Cumberland. Good luck and good fishing.
