Fishing Reports For Popular Texas Lakes

Largemouth bass are fair with chartreuse/watermelon Carolina soft plastics and spinner-baits. Lake Conroe water is fairly clear and 0.26' below pool. Striped bass fishing is fair on live minnows. Crappie fishing is fair on live minnows over brush piles. Catfish are good on stink-bait, chicken-livers and shrimp.

 Largemouth bass are good on plum worms, smoke-grubs, and bone top-waters. Lake Travis water is fairly clear and 84 degrees. The Lake is 6.74' low. Striped bass are slow at this time. White bass are only fair on chrome top-waters and white grubs. Channel and blue catfish are fair/good on blood-bait and night-crawlers. Yellow catfish is slow. Crappie fishing is slow.

Choke Canyon water is clear and 85 degrees.  Largemouth bass are only fair on small white/chartreuse spinner-baits, shallow running crank-baits, and pumpkin Whacky-Sticks with chartreuse tails along main points. The Lake is 3.29' below pool. White bass are also slow. Crappie fishing is slow. Catfish are very good on live-bait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on live bait in the upper most parts of the river.

Water clear; 85–88 degrees; 0.66' low. Black bass are fair on wacky rigged watermelon/red Senkos. Crappie are excellent over brush piles on Ghost or Blue Ghost pattern Bobby Garland Slab Slayers. White bass are excellent on clear Tiny Torpedoes. Catfish are good on prepared baits in 6–8 feet over baited holes.

 

The Lake is 0.66' below pool level. The Largemouth bass are only fair on wacky-rigged watermelon/red Senkos. Lake Ray Roberts water is clear and at 85 to 88 degrees F. Crappie fishing is excellent over brush piles on Ghost or Blue-Ghost pattern Bobby Garland Slab-Slayers. White bass fishing is excellent on clear Tiny-Torpedoes. Catfish are good on prepared baits in 6 to 8 feet over your baited holes.

On Lake Belton the Largemouth bass are good on darker spinner-baits in the coves. Lake Belton's water is fairly clear and at 82 degrees. The Lake is 2.05' below pool.  The White bass are fair by trolling perch-type Rat–L–Traps. The Hybrid stripers are fair while trolling perch-type Rat–L–Traps. The Crappie fishing is fair on live minnows under your lights at night time in approximately 30 feet of water. The Channel catfish fishing is slow, as well as Blue catfish and Yellow catfish.

 

Lake Meredith water is lightly-stained and at 80 degrees. The Lake is 79.00 low. Largemouth bass are good on live-bait, top water, shad colored crank-baits, and blackish chartreuse jigs. Also Texas rigged soft plastics are good along the grass lines and any rocky points. The Crappie fishing is also good on jigs and live-minnows. The White bass fishing is good on live-bait and shad–colored crank baits. The Smallmouth bass fishing is good on live-bait and chrome colored jerk-baits along any rocky points. The Walleye fishing is good on live-bait and bottom-bouncers. The Channel cats are good using live bait.

 

Largemouth bass are fair using buzz-baits early in morning, then switch to drop-shot rigging, spinnerbaits and Carolina rigs. Crappie fishing is only fair on minnows and jigs in brush-piles and near bridge-columns. Lake Texoma's water is off color and between 84 and 88 degrees. The Lake is about 1.04' below pool. Catfish fishing is fair/good on cut-bait and live-shad.  The Striped bass fishing is good on shad, slabs and trolling downriggers.

Toledo Bend Lake Water is stained and 87 degrees. Lake is 3.82' low. Black bass are fair using redbug soft-plastic worms. The Striped bass fishing is fair on live minnows and silver-striper jigs. The White bass fishing is good on silver spoons in the river. The Crappie fishing is fair on live minnows after dark. Bream are good on crickets and night-crawlers. Channel catfish and blue catfish are good using trotlines with live bait, stink-bait, liver, and hearts in about 30 feet of water. Yellow catfish are slow at this time.

Largemouth bass fishing is good on soft-plastics baits around and under boat docks and over any rocky points. The Lake is 0.6' below pool. Lake Weatherford's water is slightly stained and is 85 to 89 degrees F. The Channel cats are good using worms, liver or dough-bait in fishing barge. The White bass fishing is good all over on smaller shad-imitation lures. Bream fishing is fairly good on worms. Crappie fishing is only fair on live minnows/jigs in the crappie house and over brush piles.

Lake Whitney Water is rather murky and 0.97' below pool. Largemouth bass fishing is fairly slow at this time. The Striped bass fishing is also slow. The White bass are only fair on live-minnows. Crappie fishing is fair on live-minnows. Catfish are fairly good on frozen-shrimp or liver.
