Finding Fish Made Easy

In this article I fully intend on giving everyone a few ideas oh how and where to find the fish you are so seriously chasing. Always remember though that you as a fisher person are responsible to know and understand regulations in your area. If you cant get a clear answer to something that your not sure of then you should get a hold of your local fish and game because ignorance is never considered an excuse.

The first place we will talk about finding fish is in ponds. The great thing is a pond can very well be a hidden jewel that will give you a lot of fish. If you go to your local fish and game they usually can tell you about all the ponds in the area that have fish in them.

A fun way to catch fish is with hay. Beware these are one of those things that you should get checked for legalities before trying. What it involves is dropping a bale of mulch hay into the water near where you want to fish. Out of the hay will come all kinds of bugs and things that the fish will like. This will actually keep fish in your spot for days. So if you find it to be legal go ahead and give it a try.

New water like reservoirs can be great but to start there are a few things you should first know. The first couple of years fishing will be great and you will catch a lot of fish. The thing is at first the fish will be quite small. As the years go on the fish will get bigger but they will also get smarter which in turn will make them more difficult to catch.

You want to be able to watch seasoned fisher people and see what tey are doing to catch fish. Once you get a hint on what they are doing then feel free to duplicate. Moon phases are a thing to learn about as well. See what certain fish are doing in certain moon phases. This is information you should record so you can follow it the following years to come.

Many different fish have different feeding habits. For an example you will notice bass bite best in the early morning and later evening. Some fish like blue gills bite beter in the late mornings while something like crappies are best caught in the middle of the night.

In the older lakes that have been fished forever you will need to try and work something out that isnt so familiar to the fish living there. You see they have seen almost anything that can be placed in front of their faces. On a lake like this fish like bass are known to swim over ten miles a day to find what they are looking for. A good thing for these big bass is troll the bottom and hopefully find some of them on the move.

If you see bubbles on the water it is a good sign that there are bass at the bottom feeding.

Another thing you may want to do is have a good look under the water so you can map out whats there for now and for many trips to come. Some fisher people just like to do this with scuba gear. However scuba gear for many people is not an option so they will have to look at what works for them to help finding fish made easy.

If you have patience you will wait until the water levels drop to their lowest and then you will practice your artist capabilities. At this time you can draw pictures of where the drop offs, rocks, stumps and any other structures that are worth taking note of. Then when the time comes for the water to come back up you will have a good idea and area as to where you will be catching your next fish from.

Here is an idea not a lot of people think of when it comes to finding a lot of fish. Have a try behind a waterfall. Fish just seem to end up there naturally. What happens in most cases is bait fish are attracted to the falls. Of course if there are bait fish there will be game fish. Cast your bait in there, give it a chance and you will likely be hauling a fish out from behind the waterfall.

Know about fishing in the wind. As much of a pain that it may seem to be in lakes and ponds you really want to be fishing where the wnd is hitting. It will be like a buffet for the game fish. With the wind blowing all the bugs will be on top of the water, the bait fish will be pushed into shore and the lake will get disturbed enough to churn up bait that may be laying on the bottom. Ya, this just may be a good place to go after that huge pike or trophy bass.

One other great place that is often over looked is over hanging trees. This in many cases tends to be a honey hole for many fish. A tree hanging in the water has so much going for it to help us in our search of great big fish. There will be insects on the trees that are flying low, walking low or even swimming around the tree. The tree creates the needed shade and cover for hot days. Trees are also a great place to lay in wait for the bait fish to come swimming in. Just dont undeer estimate the great potential of a tree hanging over and laying in the water.

Of course its all about catching a fish. We can all say we love the freedom, peacefulness, tranquility and so forth. This is probably a true statement but lets face facts. It is always a lot more fun when we catch as opposed to not catching. The key is to keep doing your homework, keep practicing, keep reading and keep on fishing and you will notice your skills and catch amounts going up.
