Realizing that it could be turning point, Creek club went ahead fro a patent. Even though they were correct with their assumptions, the patent couldn't save the day. They were severely lacking resources. In order to compensate for that, they gave up a part of their patent to Heddon. If they had enough resources to go by, history could have been different.
