Bass Fishing Techniques For Toho Florida

Lake Tohopekaliga, or Lake Toho as it is more commonly known, is one of the most famous bass fishing lakes in Florida today.

It is located in Kissimmee in Central Florida just a few minutes away from Disney World, which makes it incredibly accessible for all bass fishing enthusiasts looking to grab a piece of the action.

Lake Toho is renowned for its high population of largemouth bass, and trophy bass at that so you would be mad not to want to visit if you are in the area. When visiting there are several techniques that you might like to try out to increase your catch rate and improve your overall style. Lake Toho Largemouth Bass

Lake Toho is a perfect habitat for largemouth bass and this fact has been scientifically proven time and again over the years. It covers a total area of 18, 810 acres and provides bass fishing action throughout so you can take your time and find the perfect spot. There are numerous spots that you might want to try out, including North Steer beach, Brown's Point and Goblet's Cove.

The flow there is awesome so the bass are quick and incredibly lively from the early spring to early fall. You can also get some good bass fishing in winter as well. In fact, Lake Toho is the bass fishing enthusiast's paradise all year round, which is why it does tend to get busy on a regular basis.

Useful Lake Toho Techniques

If you want to go fishing at Lake T9oho and achieve a good catch rate then the first thing you have to do is choose the right baits and lures to attract the largemouth bass in the first place.

Plastic worms, rattling crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs tend to work really well in the waters of Lake Toho. They tend to attract the bass and work well no matter what the conditions on any given day. Texas rigs and Carolina rigs will also give your line an advantage in the waters. However, the way you use them will make all the difference.

You ma want to use plastic worms to fish the native hydrilla and other vegetation in the early spring as the bass will hide amongst it. Floating the plastic worm along the grass edges and skimming it in amongst the vegetation will really give your catch rate a boost.

However, in summer you might want to try the eight man made fish attractors that are located in the deeper areas of the lake during summer. Bass will head deeper to avoid the heat of the sun so fishing these areas can be incredibly productive. Fishing deep but fast is always advisable there.

You may want to try fly fishing in the shallower banks of Lake Toho in spring because it can prove incredibly fruitful. The normal fly fishing technique is often more than adequate.

However, if you do enjoy a change every now and again when you are out on Lake Toho then you can enjoy a little bass fishing from the middle of the lake!
