Fly Fishing Virgin Waters: Redfern River Lodge, A Luxury Wilderness Retreat
There are many important elements when it comes to creating the perfect fishing vacation: remote open waters, dry fly action, huge rainbow trout with an appetite, and moments of excitement to keep things interesting. More than anything, though, peace and solitude define the ideal fishing holiday--an opportunity to commune with nature in the primal activity of catching your dinner. Fly fishing in remote locations offers you a chance to clear your head and access the tranquility that eludes you in your everyday city life.
Remote locations allow you to remove yourself from the hustle and bustle of city life and relax in the beauty of the natural environment. Redfern isn't one of your cookie cutter Canadian fishing lodges; it is a wilderness experience! In Canada, fly in fishing is more of a passion than a mere pastime.
Redfern River Lodge is situated in Eagle Bay, along the easterly coast of Eutsuk Lake, within North Tweedsmuir Park, which spans 2.5 million acres. Redfern's world class fly fishing boasts a selection of 15 lakes and 4 rivers within its jurisdiction. Some areas have been untouched for years, and new waters are explored every season. This allows for a truly unique opportunity to fish new territory.
Redfern River Lodge is unparalleled when it comes to remote BC fly fishing. Eutsuk and Walla Lake's huge rainbow trout are big fellas, up to 20 lbs. In addition to its world class fly fishing of wild, native rainbow trout, Redfern has rarely fished, hard fighting fish, which run 10 to 24 inches in length. The Segutlat and Iltasayko Rivers are also healthy producers. Redfern has exclusive rights to guide fishermen in the area, and while guests are encouraged to catch and release, you are permitted to keep a two day catch limit from the big lakes, on account of their healthy populations.
Whether you're looking for excitement or tranquility, Redfern has it all. In addition to an abundance of fishing opportunities, guests can enjoy canoeing and pontoon boating or boat tours on the rivers and lakes, hiking and wildlife-watching (moose, bears, wolves, birds, etc.) on secluded trails, or float plane "flight-seeing" tours of the area. At this luxury wilderness retreat, you get the complete "Redfern Experience"! Best of all, though, you will enjoy seldom-fished species in virgin or rarely touched waters. You can boldly fish, where no man has fished before!
