You can easily stand or sit behind the helm and get a real feel for the boat driving in ‘sport' mode. This will be a major bonus when you're travelling along searching for surface action.
The console provides an attractive three-spoke sports wheel, electric slim-line throttle box, set of motor gauges, four-ganger switch panel and double-deck shelf pockets to stow your personal gear. Steering is a mechanical non-feedback 4.1 ratio system that worked pretty well. However, I notice hydraulic steering is offered as an option.

Access aboard is quite good thanks to the rear pod deck and folding ladder.
The Stacer 539 Nomad Fisher is rated for single, long shaft motors from 70-130hp. We tested her with the factory supplied Evinrude ETEC 115hp which was a delightful combination for all round performance.
With three aboard we managed the following results:
3500rpm 22 knots
4500rpm 27 knots
5500rpm 35 knots
6000rpm 37 knots
This is pretty fast performance and I doubt many buyers would desire to go the maximum 130hp. If they did so, the Nomad would fly around the 40 knot level.
The only buyers I can see using the 130hp would be anglers involved in Pro/Am tournament fishing events where you have to get from Point A to B as quickly as possible.
Up in the Territory and Northern Australia there are often situations where you might need to run big distances to reach a fishing destination, however, most anglers who fish local waters won't need that capacity. For the average fisho working his local waterways a 90hp or 115hp would suit.
The 539 Nomad is designed for either two or four-stroke motor technology and can take outboards on the transom to a maximum of 242kg. Apart from the Evinrude motor I'd like to see how this boat would go with one of the new generation Suzuki or Yamaha four-strokes.
And talking of power choices, the 539 Nomad has a standard 80-litre fuel tank under the floor with deck filler near the helm. This is a neat installation and will suit most local fishing trips. However, for longer offshore trips you might need a bit more reserve fuel capacity than 80-litres.
The boat also comes with dual battery shelf, accessory kit, electric bilge pump, LED navigation lights, water fuel line filter and master switch.
The Nomad Fisher is well-suited to Aussie coastal estuary fishing with a short bowsprit incorporating a bow roller, plus Tee bollard and a moulded plastic lined bow anchor locker behind.
You also get low polished, alloy bow rail, extruded coamings and two plastic rod holders per-side. There's also low grab handles astern as well as a casting deck up front with carpeted surface. There are lockers underneath with one to take the optional electric thruster motor. You can also have a live catch tank installed up front, but within the floor is a big kill tank.
The open layout makes it very easy to move around the boat during a hook-up.
