Our modern culture has become a hotbed of stress which can be eased by a good old fashioned fishing trip. One of the best antidotes for the crazy paced lifestyle that we tend to live is a return to nature. Especially if a person lives in a city or commutes back and forth to the urban jungle from a planned suburban community, the lack of the natural world has a negative impact on health. Studies have shown that time spent in a quiet nature preserve or waterway can reduce tension, blood pressure and stress.
Many of today抯 illnesses are directly attributed to ongoing stressful situations. Heart disease, cancer, diabetes, depression, and anxiety are all closely linked with a chronic supply of Cortisol flowing through human bodies. Cortisol is the 揻ight or flight?hormone which a body releases in response to danger. When there is an imminent danger, this can be a great thing. A body抯 release of Cortisol will make a person抯 reaction times quicker; give them more energy and a memory that is enhanced.
