If you are serious about your fishing or even if you are not and just go every now and then, you're going to need a good fishing pole right? Well, the fishing rod that we are about to discuss is not just some average or cheap fishing rod. These guys have been making them for decades. Yeah, I said decades. Since 1977 Shakespeare have been making Shakespeare Fishing Rods of all sorts and one of the most popular of all is the Ugly Stik.
Shakespeare Fishing rods are made for the serious and not so serious angler. Why? Well, it is about price and what quality you get for that price. If you are someone who just goes fishing once every blue moon then this rod still suits your need because it is not expensive and it rocks. If you are someone who goes fishing all the time then again this rod suits your every need no matter what fishing you are doing because the quality of this rod is just like the most expensive rods out there.
On average, you can get an Ugly Stik fishing rod for 30 to 40 dollars depending on what you need and what you are fishing for. If you know much of anything at all about fishing then you will know that good quality rods normally cost over 100 dollars each. So, 30 to 40 dollars is actually about as good a deal you will find for a high quality rod. I say that because I fish with some of those 100 dollar rods and I also fish with Shakespeare Fishing Rods for the exact same requirements a lot of the time. I do know that if you want the best bang for your buck then I can't recommend or can't even think of a better made rod than the Shakespeare Ugly Stik.
Anyway, I fish for mostly bass, spotted bass if you want to know specifics, and I fish a lot of tourneys. For bass, I'm normally always using a Shakespeare Ugly Stik Casting Rod that is medium heavy, once piece, and 6 feet 6 inches long. I use this rod for a lot of jigging and even crankbait use. All around this rod is my favorite bass rod I own because of all the multi purpose use I get out of it such as jigging, cranking, worming, swimbaits, and on and on. Point is, it is a great rod for all types of bass fishing. Shakespeare fishing rods have never let me down no matter if it is bass fishing, blue gill fishing, crappie fishing, walleye fishing, or catfishing. Is is the best overall rod hands down.
