Florida offers you all kinds of game fish to catch both inshore and even more if you plan on fishing offshore. Some of the great game fish that you can get while fishing inshore are snook, redfish, sea trout, flounder, mangrove snapper, and sheepshead. You do not necessarily need a boat in Florida to fill up your cooler with some delicious fish.

One of the options you might want to look into if you do not have a boat is fishing from a pier. There are many fishing piers up and down both coasts of Florida, and they all provide excellent fishing for anglers year round. The Fort Desoto fishing pier extends out a little longer than a football field, and all the fish I mentioned above can be caught there. One famous bridge to fish from in Florida is the old Sunshine Skyway Bridge. They have bait stands and tackle shops on both sides for the saltwater angler. If you are in the Tampa Bay area and do not have a boat, this will be your best option next to fishing the Fort Desoto piers.

Fishing offshore in Florida can get a bit pricey, but if you have the right captain than it will be well worth the cost. If you do not have access to a boat that can go out in the gulf or the ocean, there are fishing charters everywhere that will take you out to catch some fish for a price. If you get some friends together and everyone pitches in it will help a lot on the finances, and you will have a great time.
