One of the most beautiful places in the world is Kona, Hawaii. In the waters of this perfect paradise there are plenty of fish larger than you. The blue marlin found in these waters is a big fish. Even small blue marlins are bigger than you are. The record caught in 1982, was 1376lbs. Another beautiful place to go is Brazil. In the amazing waters off the coast of this lush country there are plenty of large fish. One of the bigger species is the Atlantic blue marlin. The record Atlantic blue marlin was caught in 1992. It weighed in at 1402 lbs. so even a little one will be larger than you are.

Peru is yet another gorgeous place to go fishing. The coastal waters are teeming with big fish. The beaches are fun to fish from as well as the deep sea fishing. Peru is the home of the world record black marlin caught over 50 years ago. This fish weighed in at 1560lbs. There are many black marlins in these waters that are well over 500 lbs. Well over 3 times as large as you are.

There is a stretch of water along the Snake River known as Hells Canyon. This amazing part of the river is home to many white sturgeon. In years past there have been huge sturgeons caught here. Some recorded over 1000lbs. Today, due to over fishing and other forms of mismanagement the sturgeon are smaller, however, it is believed there are still fish in this river that are between 200-500 lbs. In Thailand, in the Chiang Khong district, there are large catfish in the rivers. Here it's quite possible to catch a catfish that is well over 6 feet long and over 300lbs. A huge 9 foot catch was recently caught here and eaten by the village. Although these large fish are considered an endangered species the locals who fish for survival are still happy to catch and eat them.

The coastal waters off California may seem like a strange place to catch fish but the big fish are there. One of the species in these waters is the giant Seabass. A little over 40 years ago the record giant Seabass was caught here. It weighed over 563 lbs. There are still many fish here over 300lbs.
