Those who live near the beach should consider an aluminum-framed bike with alloy rims. This is because aluminum is more resistant to rust as compared to steel. They are also lighter. So if you want a smoother ride, steel is a better option.

The rims can also vary. They can be made from alloy or steel. Among the two, aluminum offers a better braking surface. Stainless steel spokes are also noted to offer good strength.
