So, I woke up one morning, went to the little boys room to, well...you know, right before making myself all nice and pretty before climbing on my bike and heading to work.
And then I saw it.
Two teeny tiny grey hairs, one on either temple. But that wasn't the bad part 'cause, see, those two almost invisible grey hairs were only a distraction from the real culprit. There was this massive hair hanging out of my right nostril! And, man, it was big!
Well, after I found my axe and hacked that hair out of my nose I realized something. Even someone as beautiful and awsome as I am can get old. I'd been slowly coming to that conclusion over the course of about a year or so and that mutant nose hair pretty much confirmed it.
But what does this have to do with electric bikes ?
It's pretty obvious isn't it?
I was getting older. And I still LOVED riding my bike...
but there were times when it seemed more difficult to travel the same distance that I used to ride without any trouble. And every once in a while I'd get an ache or a pain in my knees and legs that I was once able to just walk off.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not exactly falling apart and I'm in no danger of needing a cane any time soon, but I'd become aware of the fact that I could benefit from a little assistance when I ride.
And then it hit me.
All at once and all by myself I came up with a fantastic and original idea!
What if I slapped a small motor on my bike so that it could do a little more of the work?
What if I could make it do ALL the work if I wanted?
And forget about using gas! This puppy is gonna be electric!
Oh, the cleverness of me!!!
So I abruptly consulted my trusty partner in crime, GOOGLE, and posed one simple suggestion.
E-l-e-c-t-r-i-c B-i-k-e.
Eight trillion, nine hundred forty four zillion, five thousand hundreds of search results for MY original electric bike idea! Can you believe that? The audacity!
Well so much for my million dollar idea. Looked like one or two other people beat me to the punch. The good news was that enjoying an electric bike would be much easier than I expected because I didn't have to build an e-bike from scratch, although I could if I wanted.
I didn't even have to buy and electric bike, although that was an option as well.
I could just slap an electric conversion kit onto one of the bikes that I already owned and Voila! An electric bike!
Oh, the cleverness of me!!!
