Why would you buy a Dahon Folding Bike?
Well I think a good quality folding bike is seriously cool. I mean think about it, anybody can have a “normal” bike, but a folding bike, well that’s different. Imagine riding to work on your new folding bike, for a start people on the street will stop, stare and admire you. Think of the look of envy from your workmates, as you dismount, quietly proceed to fold up your bike in about 20 seconds, (manufacturers claim), and stash in a cupboard, hear the low mumble of admiring comments, as you nonchalantly proceed to your desk/office. This is the stuff of dreams.
I own a folding bike, I don’t commute, I work from home. I live in a large house with no storage issues, I still own a folding bike. I use it for short trips, often to my local café for my morning coffee, or to visit friends who live nearby.
Is this my only bike? No, I have 5 other bikes, none of which fold. But my folding bike is my favourite. Why you might ask? Well when I ride my folding bike, I know I’m not in a hurry, even though It can be ridden fast, I don’t, it’s my cruising bike, I feel happy and uplifted when I ride it.
Buying one is a big decision. I spent months analysing it, do I really need another bike. No. Will I use it. I don’t know. But then you see one, see it compacted, can it really be ridden? See the transformation as it unfolds into it’s functional form, opening up the frame, extending up the seat, swinging the handlebars into place, and that first short ride. The joy. Do I want one, YES.
Some have called this the Folding Bike Addiction, the magic you feel every time you unfold your bike. It’s so practical, so contained and neat. It is COOL.
Join the elite club of “folders” with your secret passion. Smile and nod at other folders as you pass them, they know, they have it too.
Off course if you need a good reason to buy a folding bike, there are plenty to choose from.
Convenience: easily take it anywhere, on the bus or train, or pack in the car when you go on holiday.
Security: Forget the bike rack, fold and take with you where ever you go.
Storage: If you live in an apartment, where space is at a premium, then folding is the only way to go. Easier to get it up stairs or in an elevator as well.
There’re are plenty of makes and models of folding bikes on the market, but if you’re going to buy one, spend a bit of money and get one that looks good, seriously good. You wont be sorry.
