How do you remove a pedal arm on mountain bike?

To remove a pedal arm on a mountain bike, you will need the following tools:

• A pedal wrench or a 15 mm Allen key

• A chain whip or a crank extractor

1) Use a chain whip or crank extractor to hold the crank arm still while turning the pedal wrench.

2) If you are using a pedal wrench, turn the wrench counterclockwise to loosen the pedal. If you are using an Allen key, turn the key clockwise to loosen the pedal.

3) Once the pedal is loose, unscrew it by hand.

4) Repeat steps 1-3 for the other pedal arm.

Tips:

• If the pedals are stuck, you may need to use a penetrating oil to loosen them.

• Be careful not to lose the small springs and bearings that may be located inside the pedal arms.
