How do you tighten a stem on bike?

Materials:

- Hex wrench (Allen wrench)

- Screwdriver

- Grease

- Rag

Instructions:

1. Locate the stem bolts: The stem bolts are usually located on the front of the stem, near the handlebars. There are usually two or four bolts.

2. Loosen the stem bolts: Use the hex wrench to loosen the stem bolts. Do not remove the bolts completely.

3. Apply grease to the stem bolts: Grease the threads of the stem bolts to prevent them from seizing.

4. Tighten the stem bolts: Use the hex wrench to tighten the stem bolts. Tighten the bolts until they are snug. Do not over-tighten the bolts, as this can damage the stem.

5. Test the stem: Stand over the bike and hold the handlebars. Rock the bike back and forth to make sure that the stem is secure. If the stem is still loose, tighten the bolts until it is secure.

6. Reattach the top cap: Reattach the top cap to the stem.

7. Tighten the top cap bolt: Use the screwdriver to tighten the top cap bolt. Tighten the bolt until it is snug.

Tips:

- If you have a carbon fiber stem, be careful not to over-tighten the stem bolts. Carbon fiber stems can be easily damaged if over-tightened.

- If the stem is still loose after you have tightened the stem bolts, you may need to replace the stem.
