Every once in awhile, you come across an invention that makes you ask, "Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?" The guys at Revolights are full of innovation and creativity, and if you're a cyclist, it's being put to good use.
The lighting system that the company is quickly becoming known for allows for 360 degrees of visibility by attaching lights to the front and rear wheels. Thankfully, this isn't just a one and done product. The company's latest project, Revolights Arc, is perhaps even more ingenious.

By incorporating a lighting system that will work on any bicycle fender, you can wirelessly control left and right turn signals and activate brake lights when coming to a stop. The idea makes sense, considering that in most states bicycles operate under the same rules of the road as other motor vehicles.
In the past, the issue has been that drivers don't know what a cyclists intentions are—when they plan to stop or turn. And while hand signals can be used some of the time, it isn't realistic if both hands are on the brakes.
The Revolights Arc is attempting to provide a solution to that problem that could change the way we think about bicycle safety. The project is still looking for funding (a kickstarter project), but will hopefully find it's way to bicycle retailers soon.
Take a look.
