Jeep Rock Climbing

Rock hiking is an exciting and thrilling sport. It is a highly challenging sport and requires a lot of experience and stamina. Always climbers work in pairs, one climbing and the other belaying. In lead climbing, the belay climber feeds rope to the lead climber through a device called belay device.

This allows the leader to climb up. On his way up he places bolted hangers, protection, etc. The belay "locks off" the rope to make sure that secured person does not fall from the hold.

Rock climbing is climbing rocks using the various rock climbing gears such as harness belay etc. However, rock climbing need not be necessarily done by manpower. These days rock climbing using jeeps is very popular and preferred mainly by adventures lovers. This is know as jeep rock climbing.

Now a day's Jeeps are used to hike some rough and irregular terrains. For rock climbing purpose, jeeps are specially designed, as they should be very rugged to withstand the worst extreme cases. Jeep rock climbing has been announced as an individual sport and this sport is gaining is much more popularity these days.

Jeep is a 4-wheeler automobile marquee and registered trademark of Chrysler. It is one of the oldest Sports utility vehicles available now, with Land Rover coming in a close 2nd. Many people consider the word jeep as a generic term and use it uncapitalised for any vehicle of this shape and function.

The word jeep would eventually be used as slang to refer to an airplane, a tractor that is used for carrying heavy equipment, and an auto gyro. When Holabird received one of the first few jeep models for testing, the vehicle was not yet named. Soldiers present on the project called it Jeep and the name remained.

Civil engineers and test drivers who were at the camp during this time were not aware of the military slang. They most likely were well known with the character Eugene the Jeep and thought that Eugene was the origin of the name jeep.

Other names the vehicle was referred to include Peep and Pygmy, Blitz-Buggy, etc. due to the association with Eugene, the name Jeep became permanent and was better than any other term. A 4-wheel drive car with a capacity of one and a half tons was used for army purposes and also for investigation.

A term applied to bantam-cars, and infrequently to other types of motor-vehicles in United States of America in the Link Trainer, Air Corps, the 1/2-ton command car, in the armored forces, etc.

This kind of jeep rock climbing is mainly carried in places having some big boulders of rock. The tyres of jeep are specially designed, as they have to climb the rough rock terrains. The tyres are broad and are made of vulcanized rubber. The horsepower of the jeep engines has high horse power as they need high power to climb the rough rock terrains
