Can you burn spruce logs in an indoor fireplace?

Spruce logs can be used in an outdoor wood-burning fireplace, but they are not suitable for use in an indoor fireplace. Spruce logs emit a high amount of sap and creosote, which are both highly flammable and can create dangerous conditions in an enclosed space. Additionally, spruce logs generate intense heat, which can damage the walls and chimney of an indoor fireplace.
