How do you get old batteries out of a flashlight?

To remove old batteries from a flashlight, follow these steps:

* Loosen the battery compartment cover: To open the battery compartment, turn it counterclockwise. On some flashlights, the battery compartment cover may be hinged and easily snapped off.

* Remove the cap from the battery: Pull out the old battery cap. The cap may be made of plastic or metal, and it may be attached with screws.

* Unhook the battery: The battery is held in place with two metal clips. Carefully unhook the clips and lift out the battery.

Note: If you are unable to easily remove the batteries, do not use force. You may damage the flashlight. Instead, check to make sure that the battery compartment cover is properly aligned and that the battery clips are not jammed.
